Portsmouth is Britain's best connected ferry port, and a highly successful multi-user port which welcomes cruise ships and freighters as well as luxury cruise ferries, fast craft and an up to date passenger ferries.

Sail from Portsmouth and there's a choice of five continental destination ports and two in the Channel Islands.

Brittany Ferries operates multipurpose passenger and freight sailings to Caen and St Malo plus a freight only service to Caen.

P&O Ferries operates multipurpose passenger and freight sailings to Cherbourg, Le Havre and Bilbao and a fast craft service to Cherbourg.

Some 3.4 million people travel through Portsmouth Continental Ferry Port each year, attracted by the excellent road links that Portsmouth has with the rest of the UK.

Directions:

By Car:
Portsmouth has the best road connections of any UK Channel ferry port and it is nearer to central London than Dover or the Channel Tunnel.

The M275 brings the national motorway network right to the port itself.

A new exit road gives cars and coaches direct access to a northbound slip road on to the M275 plus easy access to central Portsmouth.

By Rail:
There are frequent train services between Portsmouth and London Waterloo: the journey takes 85 minutes.

Services to London Victoria pass through Chichester, Brighton and Gatwick.

Services to Cardiff pass through Salisbury and Bristol.

Portsmouth & Southsea train station is a short bus or taxi ride from the port.

By Coach:
There are direct services from the port to Heathrow and Gatwick airports and London Victoria Coach Terminal. Change at London Victoria for all major towns and cities.
